Recreation season Covid safety

We are so excited to have seen our first games take place last night, and we are looking forward to the next round tomorrow night.

If you haven't yet, find us on facebook, and send us some of your favorite pictures. We'd love to highlight your players!

      Please wear your face coverings
Last week, we sent out our Covid safety plan, and it is reproduced below.

The most notable requirement for our season is mask usage for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at the fields.

We understand that wearing masks and face coverings is, at best, an inconvenience, but the state of North Carolina has mandated that we ensure a safe environment for everyone involved.
If we are out of compliance, our season could be cancelled by the City, County, or State Health Department.

Unfortunately, we do not have one person at the fields to help ensure everyone is wearing masks. We are asking coaches and referees to ask all at their respective fields to put them on, but this is largely a self policing act--
please ensure that you, your players, and all spectators in your party are all wearing masks.

We are excited to return for the spring after a cancelled fall season. The safety of our players is paramount.
Below is some important information that has been compiled through various feedback and guidelines set forth by our sports governing bodies at the State and National level combined with information set by North Carolina’s Governor and the Department of Health. Many of these recommended protocols are common sense. If we work together to minimize exposure to the COVID-19 virus, then we can all stay safe and healthy and continue to enjoy sport activities.

While we are going to do our best to put the staff and players in the safest possible environment, primarily it is the responsibility of our families to educate children on expectations when out on the field. Using governing body recommendations, and the responsibilities defined below, LYSA maintains and distributes Player and Spectator Guidelines to all families on a frequent basis.
The most current version is attached.

  • LYSA has engaged with local health professionals and will continue to create dialogue to ensure Lenoir Youth Soccer Association is providing the safest environment for all members.
  • Educate all Lenoir Youth Soccer Association staff and volunteer coaches on expectations and protocols when on the field.
